Shipping Time

POGimages may require 3 to 5 days to print and package your order before it is shipped.  Most orders are printed and shipped within 2 days of your order.  A notice will be sent to you via email the day your order is shipped.  For express orders we need 12 hours from printing to shipping.

Choice of Carrier

You must chose the carrier you prefer to deliver your order when you check out.  Each carrier has different services and prices.  Services range from tracking, arrival times, and quality of delivery.  FedEx is great for shipping orders with minimal damage.  UPS and USPS are good for shipping ujst tube (rolled) prints.  UPS and USPS have a higherpercentage of damage due to shipping methods.  All carriers offer insurance.  (See the topic Insurance)  POGimages urges you to use insurance when shipping flat prints.   (See the topic on Types of Package)  Flat packageing is more prone to shipping damage.

Insurance

All carriers offer insurance.  If you insure a package and recieve it damaged DO NOT OPEN it because we will not be able to collect an insurance claim from the carrier.  Once a package is opened the insurance becomes null and void.  (See Damaged Package/Procedures under policies/declartions page for more detail).

Types of Packaging

  • Tube Packaging

Tubes are less expensive to ship.  The disadvantage is when you roll the print for a tube it tends to stay rolled once removed from the tube.  A somewhat rolled print is more more difficult for a framer to work with.  A framer must work with the print to keep it flat while mounting it.  This gives the print more chance to incure creases from the framer.  A professional framer will have few problems mounting a rolled print.  Non-professional framers (such as Michael's Arts & Crafts) tend to damage a print while mounting.  Also with new types of glossy printer papers, a rolled print can sometimes cause the surface of the paper to 'buckle' and weaken the paper surface possibly forming small bubbles or blisters over time.

  • Flat Packaging

Flats are more expensive to ship and are more subject to shipping damage.  The advantage is that flats offer no rolling of the print which allows for easy mounting for all framers to work with.  Flats are great if you intend to have the print mounted and framed with a non-professional framer.  Flat packaging comes with a print sandwiched between two sheets of foam board.  Foam board is much stronger than card board.

Glossy, Luster, and Matte paper are all the same in cost.

Canvas paper is more expesive by twice as much in cost over non-canvas paper.  If chosing canvas double the price the size of print.

Glossy paper is great if you wnat to mount an image without using glass in the frame.  Luster and matte papers can also be used without glass since they offer little and no glare.  Luster and matte paper work best if mounting in a frame using glass.  Canvas paper is wonderful for mounting in a frame without the use of glass or as a wrap around a frame.  Canvas is the same paper that is used with oil painters.  POG Photography and Images uses cotten based canvas paper which does not stretch thus say over time.
